Apart from the Season Nine repeat shown on 7th April, a result of Ten's
response to the Easter non-ratings period, the Wednesday timeslot showed
three consecutive new episodes from Season Ten.
Things weren't quite so predictable on Sundays. On 4th April, Ten brought back the Sunday stream, half an hour earlier (at 7:00pm) and with just a single episode, leading into Good News Week. Perhaps they were encouraged by the results of these shows' initial pairing a couple of weeks earlier. In terms of predictability, however, the stream has been something of a disaster, screening non-sequential episodes from Season Seven, with little sign of any pattern. With any luck, however, this spells the end of episode merging. Meanwhile, Ten's weekday stripping completed Season One and went on to cover the first half of Season Two. |

There were a couple of changes on Foxtel in April, mainly readjustments
towards a more integrated stream structure.
On Saturday, 10th April, the weekend morning stream returned to screening all five episodes from the same season, bringing to a close the aftermath of the four-episode experiment at the start of February. Hence this stream ended up airing from the latter part of Season Seven to a point well into Season Nine, with a couple of Season Three episodes tacked on as filler on the 3rd and 4th of the month. At the same time, the two weekend evening timeslots were recombined into one. The Sunday evening Simpsons Hour aired for the last time on Sunday, 4th April, with two episodes from the middle of Season Eight. The following weekend, The Simpsons appeared at 6:00pm Sunday for just one episode, following on from Saturday's. The new, combined, 6:00pm weekend stream aired the last part of Season Eight and started in on Season Nine. I guess the Sunday stream was never destined to catch its Saturday counterpart; its repeat timeslots have disappeared, its position in the episode order has been lost. Beside all this reshuffling, the weekday stream had a very sedate month, showing the second half of Season Four and the first half of Season Five. |
