Network Ten Broadcasts in June

In June, Season Eight and Seven repeats continued to screen on Sunday evenings on Ten, with new episodes from Season Nine each Wednesday. However, on Tuesday, 23rd June at 8:30pm, Ten screened the "last" episode in Season Nine, Natural Born Kissers (a.k.a. Margie, May I Sleep With Danger). The late timeslot resulted from this episode being allocated an 'M' rating, but it's not clear why the episode was shown seven weeks before the end of new episodes in the Wednesday timeslot. In a return to last year's poor form, Ten merged this new episode with the following, Season Five episode, meaning yet another recent episode has never been seen in full on Australian free-to-air television.

The Simpsons maintained all four timeslots on Foxtel during June. The weekday stream showed the last episode of Season Eight before returning to the beginning of Season One. Saturday and Sunday mornings showed episodes from the middle of Season Two to the start of Season Five, while Saturday and Sunday evenings showed episodes from early in Season Seven and Season Eight, respectively. On 28th May, 1998, Phil Hartman, the voice of Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz, was shot in his home. To commemorate his contribution to The Simpsons, on Sunday 7th June, FOX8 screened two episodes that prominently display Phil's talents. The two episodes previously scheduled in this timeslot were skipped.
