Broadcast History for March

Ten continued to air new episodes of The Simpsons on Wednesday nights, covering the early part of Season Ten. However, the arrival of the Easter non-ratings period meant a Season Nine repeat was substituted on 31st March. Sundays were somewhat less predictable. The first two weekends of the month saw episodes aired from the start and middle of Season Eight and the middle of Season Nine (four episodes from three different places). The next weekend, the 7:30pm timeslot was terminated to make way for Ten's newly acquired Good News Week, debuting on 21st March. However, in a probable attempt to bolster the show's success, it was preceded by a new episode of The Simpsons, featuring Rupert Murdoch in a guest role and taken from the middle of Season Ten. The following week, no Simpsons were to be seen on Sunday. Weekday stripping continued at 7:00pm, with most of Season Three aired before a jump back to Season One in the last week of the month.

Foxtel Broadcasts in March

FOX8 made some minor changes to its Simpsons schedule in March, though even more appeared in the Foxtel Guide due to misprints. The weekday stream, upon completing Season Nine, jumped back to the "start" of Season Four on Tuesday, 16th March. (Both Ten and FOX8 now seem to start their seasons with the xF01 production code, hence the inverted commas.) Hence the latter half of Season Nine and the first half of Season Four aired in March. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the second half of Season Six and three quarters of Season Seven were shown, using just the first four of five slots each day. The fifth slot continued to air Season Three episodes, reaching mid-season. This ensured the listings in the Foxtel Guide were not compromised. Weekend evenings saw mid-Season Eight episodes on both Saturdays and Sundays, the Sunday stream ending the month at exactly the same point Saturday's ended February. However, the Foxtel Guide printed the wrong episode names for the last two weeks of the Saturday stream, perhaps due to confusion over what was to occur in April.
