Network Ten Broadcasts in September

Starting the month with the two parts of Who Shot Mr Burns?, Network Ten reached the end Season Six repeats on Sundays at 7:00pm and went back to Season Four in this timeslot on the 28th. The 7:30pm timeslot continued to screen the first set of Season Seven repeats. The intervening credits and opening sequence continued to be cut. Weekday stripping also continued, at 7:00pm, from halfway through Season Three to halfway through Season Five. Season Four was skipped, in preparation for its move to the first Sunday timeslot.

September showed that Foxtel's promotion of The Simpsons in August was part of a continuing commitment. The three, independent streams of episodes, established in the previous month, continued to provide almost three hours of Simpsons every day. Confusion as to the episode order continued on Saturday and Sunday mornings, (at 8:00am) as not only were episodes being promoted to fill the seventh episode slot, but an eighth slot, not screened, was also created. Hence the first three episodes each day were as shown in the Foxtel Guide, the last four were the next four episodes in the order that weren't already locked in by the Foxtel Guide, and a fifth episode was promoted but not screened. Fortunately, the other two streams (weekdays at 7:00am and 6:30pm; and 11:00pm weekdays, 6:00pm weekends) continued exactly as predicted.

Another week with no Ullman at the start of the month, and The Tracey Ullman Show was yet again moved to a new timeslot, this time at 3:30pm Tuesday to Friday. Season Three episodes having concluded in August, September began at the start of Season Four and finished three quarters of the way through the series.
