Broadcast History for October

October was a pretty quiet month for The Simpsons on Ten, despite the inevitable Hallowe'en specials nearing the 31st. The Wednesday timeslot skipped over just one episode as it aired from the middle of Season Nine. The Sunday double timeslot included episodes from Seasons Five through Eight, ending on the 31st October with the two most recent Treehouse of Horror specials. Weekday stripping at 7:00pm also continued, though with quite a few episodes skipped. Apparently those skipped were rated PG and couldn't be shown in the early timeslot, but if so, Ten's PG ratings don't line up with FOX8's very well. The end result was a smattering from Seasons Three and Four, concluding with a week of Treehouse of Horror from Seasons Four through Seven.

Foxtel Broadcasts in October

Nearly every stream underwent some changes in October on FOX8. The weekday stream gained an extra repeat timeslot at 12:00am, allowing both morning episodes to be repeated, at 7:00pm and 12:00am, respectively. This didn't apply to the first day of the month, a Friday, but subsquently the stream showed the remainder of Season Three and all of Season Four, catching up to Ten's stripping. The weekend morning stream moved back to seven episodes and a 9:00am start from the 2nd November, and aired the last episode of Season Nine before wrapping back to earlier seasons and screening Seasons One to Three and half of Four. The weekend evening stream was effectively canned in October, moving to Monday mornings at midnight, though still screening every second episode as if two were aired each weekend. These were taken from the middle of Season Two. This stream ended for good on the 25th October, despite originally being scheduled to run one week more. New episodes from Season Ten were reserved for the 7:30pm Saturday timeslot (the first time FOX8 hasn't dropped new episodes directly into their stripping order, and the first time they've been shown without repeats). The Foxtel Guide actually suggested two episodes would be skipped between months, but this was immediately confirmed to be a misprint. Finally, another Hallowe'en marathon aired on Sunday, 31st October, from 6:30pm to 12:00am. With five and a half hours allocated but only nine Treehouse of Horror episodes available, the first four episodes aired a second time, for a total of thirteen episodes screened.
